A Elegant Feel of Sangha Hall

The Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Sangha Hall is quite possibly one of the biggest venue locations for a wedding or party on the Big Island.  It's a venue that can hold a lot of guests.  Many of the weddings we are a part of at that location does have 400 - 500 guests.  With the lights on the venue does look okay.  It's bright enough for guests to see, but at times that brightness can take you away from the ambiance of the event.  You can also see the basket ball court lines on the floor as well as the baskets above.  One of the biggest secrets to the Sangha Hall is that it plays very well with lighting.

It was that big day for Juan and Bianca on January 16, 2016.  That moment that they were waiting for their whole lives.  It's when two people that love each other can finally become one through marriage.  We were glad to have been a part of it.   It was a night of one part elegance and one part fun.

Bianca and Juan or Bruddah as he is known by many, had such a spectacular evening planned for their guests.  They both wanted that elegant feel so we provided that with pink and white lighting.  We did pink uplighting with white pinspots on the food, head table, cake, pupus, and sign in table.  We also placed the custom monogram above the head table.  What's great about the Sangha Hall is that you can turn off all the house lights and use just string lighting and uplighting to create an amazing ambiance.

Sangha Hall Before and After

Sometimes people ask if string lighting or uplighting alone will provide enough lighting for your guests.  I would say no.  You do need the combination of both string lighting and uplighting to make sure you have enough lighting for the night.  It's such a huge venue so it is essential to have the right combination of lights to make sure you and your guests are comfortable.

This wedding had over 500 guests and the entertainment they had lined up was fantastic. There was music by Josh Tatofi with Loeka, Robi Kahakalau, and the night ended with Ekolu.  One of the biggest weddings I have seen so far.  It was definitely a good time.  Juan and Bianca were also really easy going and a fun couple to work with.  Here's to many great loving years to these two.  They are definitely the perfect match.
